We have so many fun and meaningful activities planned for Mother-Daughter Weekend, so make sure you stay tuned here for up to date info!

The Winnataska Pumpkin Patch

The Winnataska Pumpkin Patch

For one weekend each October, Winnataska turns into a pumpkin patch! Visitors can take a wagon ride through the woods to a picturesque patch to pick the perfect pumpkin.

Visitors can also visit our goats and chickens, play fall games, visit the Craft Hut for face painting, roast marshmallows over a fire by the creek, or get active in a bounce house.

We also offer the opportunity to mine for gems or have a horseback trail ride through the lovely fall forest. The Canteen will be open for lunch and snacks.

Winnataska needs YOU! This event requires a LOT of volunteer support to be successful. This is also a great opportunity for Corporate Sponsors to show their support as it attracts visitors from both the nearby community and the larger Birmingham area. If you are interested in helping with this fundraiser, please contact info@friendsofwinnataska.org.

Opt Outside Hike

Opt Outside Hike

In 2015, the outdoor supply company REI didn’t open its doors on Black Friday, instead, giving their employees a paid day off to “Opt Outside” with their friends and family. Many other outdoor companies and not-for-profits have since joined with them in this campaign, including Camp Winnataska. We gather for a hike somewhere on our property, and then have s’mores around a campfire. It is a wonderful way to enjoy the outdoors with family and friends, and is a FREE event.
